MOTHER

MOTHER is a project exploring our relationship with modern technology. These images are presented as diptychs, juxtaposing high resolution scans of consumer electronics’ internal circuitry with satellite imagery of the city of Shenzhen, China (the world’s electronic manufacturing hub). Together these images question the environmental and ethical implications of the fervent electronic consumption of the western world, and expose the disconnect we feel with the internal mechanisms, production, and disposal of these devices.
